This is me and my foal this year outside Forge Cottage B&B (they took the photograph).  I keep trying to stay in their lovely rooms but I've never enough cash in my pockets.

Welcome to my own Internet site.  My name is Fringy (thats `frin jee`) due to someone trimming my fringe too short.  I am Bramshaws' favourite New Forest Pony. 

I'm speaking on behalf of my friends here, these also include the cattle, donkeys and people.  We would like consideration from vehicles using `our` roads and are asking you for your thoughts.

Bramshaw watches me everyday walking along the main road towards the village from Landford direction. I have all my stop off points along the way,   I wander to Rosary Garage and stop off at Bramshaw Post Office afterwards.

Please go slowly, I'm always right in the middle of the road.

Here I am at Bramshaw Post Office, can I come in?

• We are sure that not everyone knows that we wander on the roads of the New Forest
• We can be just around that bend or step out of the trees at any time
• In winter it's dark before we've returned home so we're still using the roads even then
• Our foals do not understand traffic, when they're apart from us they panic and don't look

• When we're using the roads the traffic doesn't seem to care
• We get whooshed by big lorries
• We get hooted at
• We get spooked by cars whizzing by
• We get near misses when we're walking on bends
• And, most of all, we loose our friends every year - hundreds of them.

• Seasonal road signs - in winter it gets dark early and we haven't managed to get home by that time
• In spring and early summer our foals are with us
• Local TV and newspapers - people seem to have gotten used to our pains so now we don't get much publicity
• Posters in hotels, pubs, golf clubs, camp sites, B&B's asking for some consideration for us

• Narrow the tarmac on the roads to give us more space to get out of the way
• Close off dangerous parts of the roads from us
• Put in speed cameras (though we know that vehicles will only slow down then speed up again)
• Put in speed bumps
• Put in narrowing sections that makes the oncoming traffic stop and give way to the other sides traffic
