Beaulieu is in the heart of the historic New Forest and on the charming Beaulieu River.

Our home was built in 1864 for the Head Master and is situated next to the village school and still today you can hear the chimes of the old school bell.  Like most of the village the house is a listed building and gives a lovely setting for you to relax and explore the area.

The village has a wealth of small quality shops offering everything from home-made chocolates, patisserie, pottery, clothing, and fine art.  The garden centre also has a coffee shop for a bite to eat or you can choose from the local tea-rooms, the restaurant at the Montagu Arms or Montys pub.

From The Old School House B&B the National Motor Museum and Palace House, home of the Montagu family, are within easy reach.  Behind the house you will find the riverside walk to Bucklers Hard.  It is here in the Master Builders House, now a hotel, that Henry Adams designed and built ships for Nelsons fleet.  The village overlooks the tranquility of the river and yacht marina. We are also a short drive from the splendid Exbury Gardens.

 

THE BEDROOMS

We offer a choice of 2 bedrooms

The house retains many original features and has both a spacious twin and double room overlooking the pretty garden. You may also like to relax in our comfortable lounge with TV.

Overlooking the garden, surmounted by a magnificent Tulip tree, leading from the original stripped pine door you enter the double room with decor exuding romance and space.

The spacious twin room with high ceilings is filled with dreamy light cascading through the cotton voile window dressings from both windows over looking the cobbled village of Beaulieu and the garden.

Within both bedrooms await little soaps, bubble baths for you to enjoy as well as biscuits, tea and coffee.

At breakfast we offer fresh food from the local farm shop and croissants from the village pattiserie, this you can enjoy either in the garden or dining room which has a Scandinavian influence and lit by candlelight.
